Presented at the PAPA International Symposium
September 24, 2005
Atlanta, Georgia

The recent introduction of Light Sport Aircraft into the American aviation scene is providing opportunities never before considered feasible due to the smaller expense of acquiring and operating an LSA in a business environment.

In this presentation, Dr. John Latta addresses the feasibility of using Special Light Sport Aircraft (S-LSA) for professional aerial photography. The original Power Point presentation investigates FAA regulations, ASTM Standards for LSA modification, aircraft characteristics and an aerial photography business model predicated on an LSA photographic platform.

The presentation also includes photographs taken at the Air Venture Show in Oshkosh, WI, in June 2005.

The large Power Point presentation can be viewed in a compressed format at the below links:

IT101 For Aerial Photography

Seattle

PAPA International Western Regional Conference
Seattle, Washington
September 30,2006

At the 2006 Western Regional PAPA conference Dr. John Latta gave an overview of IT issues of interest to aerial photographers.  After hundreds of hours of flying and gathering thousands of images, how to protect that investment.  This presentation looks at the technical aspects of downloading, storing, protecting and retrieving all of those digital images.  It goes far beyond flash cards and CDs.  Every professional aerial photographer needs to consider the IT aspect.
