Lessons Learned "As I photograph, I learn constantly about the cameras and lenses, and my own abilities. I upgrade equipment on a very regular schedule, to stay at the leading edge of the technology available. The goal of making better images, more reliably, is ever present. Below can be found some notes from recent shoots--'Lessons Learned' the hard way; by taking pictures and see what works, and what does not."
John Latta has extensive experience in computing technology, both software and hardware. He has B.E.S., M.S., and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering. His early research at the U. of Michigan, RCA and Bell Labs was in the computer design of holographic optics systems. His PhD research included the development of the first program to do ray tracing for design of holographic optical elements. The program is in commercial use today. His research then moved to the development of sophisticated image processing and display systems using minicomputer technology. Later research concentrated on system integration of large systems and the management of such projects.
