CEATEC 2001 Photo Coverage

CEATEC JAPAN 2001 is the premier technology exhibition in Japan. CEATEC stands for Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies - Providing Image, Information and Communications. This exhibition ran from October 2 to October 6, 2001 in the Makuhari Messe convention center outside of Tokyo. CEATEC occupied all 11 halls of the site. The exhibition was divided into sections: Business Solution - Halls 7 - 8, Network Society - Halls 5 - 6, Home and Personal - Halls 4 - 5 and Industry - Halls 1 - 3 and 9 - 11. Industry included electronics components, communications and electronic devices.

CEATEC is a showcase of the Japanese electronics industry. Shown were future technologies, next generation products, current products and demonstrations. Many of the products are not being sold outside of Japan and potentially represent products to be sold in the rest of the world.

Very little is reported from CEATEC in the non-Japanese press and this is unfortunate. CEATEC is a forward look into the technologies, plans and markets which will be shaping consumer electronics in the future.
