Photonics West 2002 Photo Coverage

The optical equivalent of Toy's R Us is here at Photonics West 2002. This is fun and games in optics technology, at least to those that are enamored with the technology. With 2,600 technical papers, 100 short courses and 600 exhibitors in two halls it is impossible to cover the depth of the event. After having gone to a number of optics events in Asia this is technology heaven. However, we do not mean to dismiss the international nature of this conference. The Russian Academy of Sciences has a booth here as does the Scottish Optical industry. China and Japan are well represented. There are announcements of large conferences in Japan, China and Russia. It is not only Toys R Us but the store has toys from all over the world.
